Green and red robes? What are they trying to do me?

FF Origins (PSX): Game Info

Just when you thought there couldn't be any more remakes, we have FF1 for the Playstation. This version featured vastly enhanced music due to the better hardware capability of the Playstation compared to its predecessors. This version also has unlockable artwork and two difficulty settings.

Best version for fans of the original. Fixes nearly all the bugs and keeps the magic charge system.

Ay men to that! This actually might be the best of all the versions because its the closest to the original AND it has all the major flaws of the original removed :)

The music was good, and yeah the old magic system was good too. But the translation was all crapped up. Garland didn't even have his catch phrase.

ok, so they stiffed us on the script, but the game was still enjoyable, And if you wanted to be real hard core about it, you could still play using old settings from the NES version :)

And it comes with FFII ! It does add to the overall value :D I wonder if the original japanese text also changed from version to version. Anyone knows? I've been sutdying japanese and I can understand some of the text in FFI (also read Dr. Unne's japanese comments, he he he)

What happened to the thieves with blue hair?

Jan 15, 2010 04:15 AM PST

even the so called original difficulty on this was still easier than the NES version

Jan 16, 2010 11:45 PM PST

@Kain: well thats because you could hold more weapons and armor instead of the 16 pieces of weapons max and the 16 pieces of armor max.

Jan 19, 2010 03:27 PM PST

no thats not it I just found it lots easier than the NES version plus in the Nes version there is some ungodly amount of missing with your weapons thats not in this

Jan 31, 2010 11:03 AM PST

Probably, the easiest version here. The bugs in the NES make it harder, and the bosses in the bonus dungeons of the handhelds are even more difficult.

I went nuts when I saw the opening cinematic for the first time. Am I the only one?

Feb 14, 2010 02:32 AM PST

No you are not K24. That opening cinematic was awesome, and made me want more of a story with the heroes....
